1. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always extinguish a candle before falling asleep.
2. Burn out of reach of children and pets.
3. Always leave at least a 10cm distance between burning candles.
4. Keep burning candles away from flammable objects.
5. Never move a burning candle. This may cause wax spillages and those are dangerous spills indeed.
6. Use a flame snuffer to extinguish the flames. Never use water to extinguish your candle.
7. Place your candle on heat-resistant surfaces as the glass becomes hot.
8. Keep out of draughts.
9. Burn candles between 2-4 hours. If you burn your candle for too long, it can become dangerous and the glass will overheat.
10. Always trim your wick before lighting to approximately 1/2 inch in length. This avoids wick smoke and mushrooms. It also prevents soot collecting on the jar and ensures an even, safe and clean burn.
11. Your first burn should achieve a full melt pool meaning the surface of your candle melts to the edge. This will ensure an even burn and will produce a good scent throw. Allowing the candle to pool will also avoid tunnelling.
12. When you’ve reached the last 1cm left of wax, then you’ve reached the end of your candle’s life. We’re sorry. Which lit scent will you choose next?
